Impressionist and Modern

23 May - 29 June 2012

Alon Zakaim Fine Art is proud to announce the opening of our Summer 2012 Impressionist and Modern group exhibition at our Cork Street gallery. Spanning works from the late 19th and 20th Century, this group exhibition explores the developments and changing style of fine art in Europe during this period. Beginning with works by key Post-Impressionist painters such as Victor Charreton, Eugène Kissling and Jacques Martin-Ferrières, the show charts the move into abstraction through early modernist works by Eileen Agar, Sir Cedric Morris and Jean Souverbie. Culminating in an exploration of the development of the abstract style by the next generation of artists including Claude Venard, Bela de Kristo and Robert Marc, the exhibition provides a chance to examine artists' development of abstract painting during the 20th Century. Demonstrating a wealth of variety including portraiture, landscape and abstraction, the exhibition showcases the many intriguing directions taken by artists during this period.

Impressionist and Modern will run at Alon Zakaim Fine Art, 30 Cork Street, from 23rd May - 29th June 2012. Gallery opening hours are 9am - 6pm, Mon - Fri, or by appointment only.
