Norbert Goeneutte
(French, 1854-1894)
Norbert Goeneutte was a French painter born in Paris, 1854. He attended the École des Beaux-Arts and left to set up his own studio in 1875. He met Manet at a cabaret, and as he became friends with many other great Impressionist painters, he began to exhibit at the Salon. He co-founded the Société des Peintres-Graveurs Français and exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in 1889.
Goeneutte specialized in landscape and cityscape paintings from his extensive travels throughout France, London, and Venice.
